I will be very disappointed (and most probably dead)if I ever get a chance to write a bad review on my recent purchase of the ResQFix 406 PLB! Its an item you really hope never to use! I like the small size, it seems pretty rugged, the internal test features are straight forward and the NOAA on-line resgistration was simple and easy. One point to consider is the battery change date affixed to the device. Based on that date, I have just over four years remaining instead of the five years listed in the sales literature. Mine was probably on the shelf for the better part of the year prior to sale.

Comments about ACR ResQFix PLB:
When boating at sea alone the PLB lanyard is around my neck and the PLB in a chest pocket of my life jacket.
When solo hunting or traveling off the beaten paths the PLB is on my person or in my vehicle as an essential item of survival gear.
Of course, lighter and smaller would be better--but so far, this PLB by ACR is at the head of the class!
